Andy: My first 20 days on the Tim Noakes eating plan

Andy is Hello Doctor’s very own CEO, and he embarked on the Tim Noakes eating plan around 20 days ago, having tried other eating plans with varying degrees of success. Heard about the Tim Noakes eating plan?

If you haven’t heard about Professor Tim Noakes and his controversial eating plan which has tongues wagging, then you could very well be living under a rock! Noakes has been advocating his “moderate protein, high-fat, low-carb” eating plan for years now, and it’s one he personally started on when he was diagnosed with pre-diabetes.

At Hello Doctor, we’re always interested to find out more about these types of eating plans which seem to actually have significant benefits. Andy Milne, CEO of Hello Doctor, recently started on the high-fat, low-carb plan, and we’re following his story closely, and will be giving you weekly updates.

Foods that hide sugar

Are you trying hard to cut back on salt and fat in your diet? Hold on for a second – your salt-free and low-fat foods might be harbouring high amounts of sugar, which can be just as bad for your body.

This is because fat and salt add a lot of flavour to food, and when you take them out, you need to replace them with something. Most of the time, that replacement is sugar. Got your attention now? While we have it, take a look at the top 4 foods that contain hidden sugar. If you’re ever in doubt, check the nutritional label on the packaging to see how much sugar something has before buying it.
