Are burns too hot for you to handle?

Oh no SoundCloud Mobile! Your daughter just burned her hand on the stove! Quick, what should you do?

A) Run luke-warm water over it?

B) Put butter on it?

C) Put ice on it?

The correct answer is… none of the above! Many fake treatments are thought to be real, like butter and ice. However, adding butter to a burn traps the heat and causes even more damage. That is definitely not how to treat one. It’s not the only remedy myth out in the world, so be sure to read up on How NOT to treat a burn.

How should I treat a burn?

The best way to treat a minor burn would be to run some cool water over it and wrap it in clean bandages. A second or third degree burn must be seen to by a doctor ASAP. If you need some advice on what to do for a burn, check out our How TO treat a burn and the instruction video inside the post.
