Gluten-free chocolate cake

Just because you’re following a gluten-free diet, or you’re gluten intolerant, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy decadent desserts anymore. This is a delicious gluten-free recipe, and most people won’t be able to tell the difference! Perfect for birthday parties, dinner parties or a special weekend lunch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups gluten-free flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon xanthan gum
  • 5 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup water

Method:

  1. Set the oven to 180 degrees Celsius
  2. Grease or line a square baking pan
  3. Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl
  4. Slowly add all liquid ingredients and mix well
  5. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 – 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean
  6. Turn out to cool on a rack, and once cool decorate as desired
