Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to keep that holiday euphoria going 구글 카나리아 다운로드? One day back at work and it seems like a distant memory! Let’s look at exactly what it is about holidays that makes us feel so good, and then see how we can keep that feeling going for the rest of the year:
We’ve got GREAT weather!
South African summers are warm and sunny and it’s hard NOT to want to spend time outdoors. While too much sun can be dangerous (always wear sunscreen), moderate exposure to sunlight has a number of great health benefits. The most well-known is Vitamin D production. Ultraviolet Radiation boosts the body’s vitamin D synthesis, which is essential for bone production, brain, muscle and defense system functioning. According to researchers, all you need is 15-20 min of midday sun exposure, along with a vitamin D3 supplement (of 2000IU).
Summer sunshine = more “happy hormones”
The sun’s rays also play an important role in increasing serotonin (your “happy hormone”) and melatonin (your “sleep hormone”) levels. Serotonin is the precursor to melatonin, and it’s produced during the day and enhanced by sunlight. Serotonin is then converted into melatonin as the sun goes down, and it promotes sleep by setting the pace of your body’s awake-sleep rhythm, supports your immune system and reduces inflammation. Increased levels of serotonin lead to a positive and calm outlook on life. Reduced levels of this happy hormone often result in people experiencing SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), a mild seasonal form of depression which is common in counties where daytime sunlight is limited.
Holidays also leave more time and energy for sex, and it’s amazing what health benefits regular sex has! When you orgasm, the body releases all sorts of feel good hormones – mainly endorphins and prolactin. This leaves you feeling happy, relaxed, sleepy and satisfied. Endorphins are hormones produced by your body and are similar to opiate drugs, except that they give you a natural high. Regular sex has also been shown to improve your immune system, lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of prostate cancer in men, relieve stress, improve your libido, improve bladder control in females and of course the intimacy and bond between two people grows – which will keep your relationship fun and healthy.
Music for the soul
And what would a holiday be without a soundtrack? Whatever your taste in music, certain songs are bound to make you recall special moments and feelings. Research has also shown that music reduces stress and anxiety by lowering the levels of cortisol (stress hormones) in your body, which makes it a useful additional treatment for depression and anxiety along with conventional medication. The immune system also benefits – music stimulates antibodies and helps your body fight against bacteria, viruses and illnesses.
So, you want to keep up your holiday feeling? It’s easy! Here’s what you need to do:
- Boost your vitamin D and melatonin levels by getting outside every day for at least 20 min of sunshine. If you’re going to stay out longer then use sunscreen. Also take a good quality multivitamin supplement with at least 2000IU of vitamin D3.
- Boost endorphins and strengthen your relationship by having regular sex (but always be safe please!). Other activities such as brisk walking and running also boost your feel good hormones – so make time every day to get moving.
- Make a collection of your favourite summer tunes to listen to on the way to and from work / / at the gym / while cooking supper or lying in the bath
