Run for your lives!

It’s almost lunchtime: have you started moving yet SuperBad 3? Well, it’s time to lift yourself off that chair, and get GOING! Today is World Move for Health Day…but what does it mean?

Recent studies have shown that sitting too many hours in a day could be worse for your health than smoking! This initiative helps remind us to get our nutrition and activity-levels back on track, because staying healthy is still the best way to prevent disease.

How should you move? It really doesn’t matter, as long as you find something you enjoy moving to – or for! It can be a sports-event, dancing classes, running or just choosing to walk instead of driving. Anything to get you moving, which will change your life for the better.

This is your opportunity to commit: Join the world-wide MOVE to a healthy diet and active lifestyle, and say good-bye to heart disease, stroke and even diabetes. Doctors recommend that at least 30 minutes of activity at least 3 times a week is a good start. But, even better, make it part of your lifestyle: instead of the escalator, take the stairs; instead of sitting, create a standing desk; instead of milkshake, go and shake those buns on a dance-floor!
