What can you expect during your health assessment?

When you go for your annual medical check-up, you can expect a full physical check-up and you’ll be asked about your medical history. You might also need to have certain blood tests, for example if your doctor thinks you’re at risk for high cholesterol, or thyroid problems. Why is BMI an important part of your health assessment?

BMI (Body Mass Index) is a general measure for human body shape based on your specific weight and height. It’s calculated by dividing your weight by the square of your height. So, if for example you weigh 60kg and are 1.7m then your BMI would be 20.8 – which falls into the normal/healthy weight category. (more…)
