Not everyone enjoys working out at the gym, but the good news is you can keep fit, healthy and in shape just by taking advantage of the great outdoors.

As South Africans, we’re blessed with some of the best scenery in the world – which offers you a near endless variety of walking and hiking trails – which double up as great cardio workouts. Walking and hiking helps tone your legs, bum and thighs and keeps your waistline trim. As we said, it’s a great workout.

It’s also fun to do with friends and family, and all you really need is a decent pair of walking shoes or boots to get you started.
