How to treat yeast infection properly

A yeast infection is a fungal infection that affects up to 75 percent of women at some point in their lifetime. It is caused by a type of yeast called Candida albicans. This yeast lives naturally in the vagina in small numbers. Its growth is kept in check by Lactobacillus acidophilus – good bacteria that helps keep the vagina healthy and protects against disease.
